What is the difference between different implants systems?
    August 23rd, 2012

What is the difference between different implants systems?

Different implant dentists will use different dental implants – so which one is the best?

It is widely accepted that there are 3 main dental implant companies, Densply (Ankylos)(we predominantly use these implants), Nobel Biocare, and Straumann (Astra).

Other than the companies above, there are lots of lesser knows systems, most of whom copy the implant designs of the main companies.

The lesser known companies will supply dental implants at a fraction of the cost of the main companies… However the system we use gives us a lifetime guarantee on the implant, and the abutment (connector)

The reason Dr Vadgama prefers Ankylos Dental Implants

It is the best for cosmetic work

Unlike most other systems, the Ankylos dental implant is designed to be placed 1-2mm below the bone level. This may not sound like much, but it is critical to not being able to see the implant through the gum.

With other systems, you can expect the bone around the implant to erode away, and this can make the implant visible. With Ankylos, this almost never happens, because of the special design.

It is the cleanest, which means better results

The Ankylos implant is the only implant in the world that uses something called a Morse-Taper, to help connect the crown to the implant. This Morse Taper is used in Formula 1 cars, to help keep the wheels on!

The advantage of this Morse Taper is that it forms a tight seal, which bacteria cannot get past, and hence, keeps the inside of the implant bacteria free. This is one of the reasons that very little long term bone loss is seen around this implant.

It has many options which makes it great for long term care

With this type of dental implant, you can use a whole host of connectors on it, depending on what needs to be on top.

For example, if you have two bridges on Ankylos dental implants, then you lose your remaining natural teeth, it is easy to convert the two bridges to full arch bridges, to replace all your teeth.

Life time guarantee & piece of mind

As one of the biggest dental implant companies, Ankylos dental implants come with a lifetime guarantee. In addition to this, there is always new research going into their products, and new techniques being developed.

Dr Vadgama is always attending advanced courses to keep abreast of new developments, and techniques, so that his clients can benefit from the best long term dental care.

ANKYLOS. TissueCare Concept. Attractive long-term success rate.

Solid, stable and reliable for over 20 years: ANKYLOS C/X is the answer for all clinical indications – with its predictable, natural esthetics and top mechanical stability. The tapered connection is designed for initial and long-term tissue stability. The extremely accurate TissueCare Connection has virtually no micromovement and is almost totally bacteria-proof. And it is also keyed and friction-locked – to prevent bone resorption and to ensure stable and healthy hard and soft tissue.

ANKYLOS. New perspectives. Predictable tissue stability.

Stable, predictable results for you and your patients? ANKYLOS C/X is the answer: The unique tapered TissueCare Connection transfers the transition between implant and abutment to the center of the implant and prevents mechanical influences on it and microbial attack on the peri-implant tissue. It provides additional space on the implant shoulder for the surrounding soft tissue. In combination with subcrestal placement and the microstructured implant it enables deposition of bone cells up to the abutment – for additional support of the overlying soft tissue. Ideal conditions for lasting red-white esthetics.

ANKYLOS C/X. Simplified surgery. Freedom to select the right prosthesis.

Ease of use with maximum functionality and esthetically demanding results? The new ANKYLOS C/X placement system enables accurate positioning of implants with a view of the implant shoulder even with subcrestal placement. The progressive thread design makes it easy to screw the implants into position and enhances tissue retention. The keyed and friction-locked TissueCare Connection makes surgery and prosthetics completely independent from each other. And with only one diameter for all prosthetic components any abutment can be combined with any implant as desired – now with the option of indexing. For a brilliant result over the long term and economical treatment combined with lower storage requirements.
